Lambda Chi Alpha Awarded Coe College Organization of the Year

Lambda Chi Alpha has been recognized as the Organization of the Year for the 2010-2011 academic school year at the Coe College Leadership Convocation held April 19, 2011 at the Clark Alumni House.

The Organization of the Year award is presented by the National Residence Hall Honorarium (NRHH) on an annual basis for a student group committed to excellence on campus.

The Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity has experienced steady growth over the past four years, growing from 26 members in the Fall of 2007 with a GPA of 2.77 to the current chapter size of 34 members with a GPA of 3.0.

Lambda Chi Alpha was also recognized as the Fraternity on campus with the highest GPA as well as the Fraternity that performed the most service hours over the course of the school year.

Lambda Chi Alpha was also nominated for the Most Creative Program with a Limited Budget Award for the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event held for the fourth consecutive year.

“I’m excited for where we’re going,” said Ethan Olson, chapter president. “We’ve seen a tremendous amount of growth over the past few years. The sky is the limit.”

Certain individuals of Lambda Chi Alpha were also recognized for their successes during the Leadership Convocation. Sophomore Brother Mike Anderson was presented with the Outstanding Student Officer Award for his role as the IFC President.

Ethan Olson was nominated for the Student of the Year Award, the Outstanding Junior Award, and was also named into Who’s Who Among American College Students.

Jay Caughren was nominated for the Outstanding Senior Award, the Extracurricular Student of the Year Award, and also received special recognition for his role as the first ever Coe College Student Body President to hold office for two consecutive terms.

Nick Ludwig was nominated for the Outstanding Senior Award, and Michael Anderson was nominated for the Outstanding First-Year Award.

Ankit Rana was also nominated for the Kohawk Spirit Award, an award for a student who embodies the values of the institution in a fun way.

The 2011 Coe College Leadership Convocation proved to be an exceptional recognition for the recent success of the Zeta-Alpha Chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha.
